Dental Anxiety Shouldn't Stand Between You and Care
At 207 Dental, we take dental anxiety seriously — from the very first phone call. Nobody has to white-knuckle their way through an appointment here. We offer nitrous oxide and oral conscious sedation so that real, comprehensive dental work can be completed while you remain comfortable, relaxed, and genuinely at ease.
Sedation is not just for patients with severe phobia. Whether you are dealing with a fear of the dentist, a complex treatment plan, difficulty getting numb, or you have simply been avoiding care for longer than you should have — there is a sedation option at 207 Dental that can change the experience entirely.

Which Sedation Option Is Right for You?
The right option depends on the level of anxiety you experience, the nature of the procedure, and your overall health history. Our team reviews all of this with you before recommending an approach.
Nitrous Oxide
Inhaled through a small, comfortable nosepiece, nitrous oxide takes effect within minutes and wears off just as quickly once the mask is removed. You remain fully awake and able to communicate throughout — just calm, relaxed, and at ease. No driver required afterward. Ideal for patients who need mild anxiety relief or simply want to take the edge off during longer procedures.
Learn More →Oral Conscious Sedation
A prescription pill taken before your appointment produces a deeper, more sustained state of relaxation. You remain aware and responsive during treatment, but most patients feel profoundly calm and remember little of the visit. Well suited for moderate dental anxiety, complex treatment plans, or patients who have difficulty getting fully numb. A responsible driver is required.

Initial Consultation
Our team reviews your health history and asks about the level of anxiety you experience. Based on the procedure and your individual needs, we recommend the sedation approach that offers the best balance of comfort and safety for your situation. No pressure — this is a conversation.
Pre-Appointment Prep
For nitrous oxide, no special preparation is needed. For oral conscious sedation, you will receive a prescription to fill ahead of time and instructions on when to take the medication. You will need to arrange a responsible adult to drive you to and from the appointment.
Your Procedure
You will feel relaxed and comfortable throughout the appointment. Our team checks in regularly to ensure you are doing well, and sedation levels can be adjusted as needed. Most patients who receive oral conscious sedation recall very little of the visit — and leave wondering why they waited so long.
Who Is Sedation Dentistry For?
Sedation dentistry at 207 Dental is not just for patients with severe dental phobia — it is a practical tool for a wide range of situations. Many patients who have avoided the dentist for years because of anxiety, a bad past experience, or simply not knowing that sedation was an option find that it makes dental care genuinely accessible for the first time.
Our team has worked with patients of every anxiety level and never makes anyone feel embarrassed for needing extra support. If you have been putting off care because you are nervous about it, call us — sedation may be exactly the thing that makes it possible.

How to Prepare for a Sedation Appointment
Preparation for a sedation appointment is straightforward, and our team walks you through the specifics at your consultation. The items below apply primarily to oral conscious sedation — nitrous oxide appointments require little to no special preparation. If you have any questions before your visit, we are always reachable by phone.

Fast beforehand
Avoid eating or drinking for several hours before your appointment. Specific timing will be provided based on your procedure and sedation type.
Arrange a driver
You will not be able to drive after oral conscious sedation. A responsible adult must bring you to the appointment and take you home.
Dress comfortably
Wear loose, comfortable clothing. Avoid anything restrictive around the neck or arms.
Skip alcohol and non-essential medications
Avoid alcohol for at least 24 hours before your appointment and check with our team about any medications you take regularly.
